Personal, Social and Moral Education including citizenship is a strong theme across our curriculum. Students learn about and discuss issues such as health, relationships, sex, life skills and their place in society.
Religious Education
Students in all years study Religious Education.
ICT
The academy makes extensive use of ICT throughout the curriculum, as well as in ICT lessons. The academy has state of the art technology facilities and achieves very high standards in Technology. Our link with Matthew Boulton College allows students to use industry standard computer aided design and manufacturing equipment. Students also regularly use the facility of the City Learning Centre
Collective worship
The academy’s acts of worship are mainly Christian in nature but reflect the multi-cultural, multi-faith backgrounds of our students. They complement the studies of the major faiths students undertake as part of Religious Education. Daily acts of worship may take place in classrooms or in the hall or St Alban’s Church and there is a weekly mass in the church which students may attend as an alternative to assembly. Parents are welcome to attend this service.
