Key stage 4

In years 10 and 11 we offer a full range of academic and vocational programmes at GCSE and BTEC. We continue to support numeracy and literacy if students have not achieved target levels.

The Key Stage four curriculum, delivered in partnership with Matthew Boulton College, provides for high achieving students but is also very practical. It features a wide range of pathways and offers good opportunities for personalised learning

In addition to the traditional curriculum, students can choose from technical and vocational courses including Performing Engineering Operations (Engineering - Electronics, Electricals, Wood Model Making and CAD) and Food Technology (Technology/Nutrition), Engineering Manufacturing (Print), Leisure and Tourism, Health and Social Care and Sport. Qualifications on offer include GCSE, VGCSE, NVQ and BTEC.

At Key Stage four all students receive high quality careers education and guidance and follow a programme of work related activities and work place visits culminating in a two-week work experience placement.

Our sixth form will open in 2012 offering A levels and courses that offer a pathway to higher education and a range of 16 – 19 options.
